The network evening is a regular event of the women's network "Women&Science TU Clausthal" and this time is dedicated to a very important topic: the compatibility of doctorate and parenthood.

An interactive lecture will introduce the evening and deal with the tension between scientific work and family life. Both structural conditions and specific challenges faced by parents working on their doctorates will be examined. We will ask ourselves questions such as: Why is it so difficult to reconcile a doctorate and parenthood? What resources are available to doctoral parents? And what practical steps can be taken in everyday life to reconcile these two areas?

We will also look at topics such as family-friendly organization of the doctoral period, the value of the doctorate in combination with family responsibilities and shared responsibility in the partnership. Inspiring examples and testimonials from the book "Promovieren mit Kind" will enrich the lecture
and illustrate how challenges can be overcome.
After the lecture, there will be an opportunity for discussion and an exchange of experiences. The evening will end with a cozy buffet that invites you to network and exchange ideas.
